Ideas for my Professional Project

Hi, My name is Reece and I am currently enrolled into my senior seminar. Im am not quite sure of what it is I want to do my capstone on, but I do have a few ideas I'd like to put forth and test.

In regards to my Professional Project, I was looking to take a more Social Work type of objective. Recently, I have found the passion to take my studies further and attempt to get my MBA in Social Work. I feel as if with the job I currently have would be a stepping stone in the direction I would like to end up at. Within my job, I work with troubled adolescents and help them through their program in order to provide support for them to graduate. Unfortunately, less than 40% of children to are enrolled into this boarding school do not graduate the program. They either age out (turn 18) or they are pulled away from the program due to no funding or parents/case workers decision.

So, because I am not allowed to work or help the students with their school work, I am forced to stand on the side and watch these kids fail over and over again. I see many flaws within the academic side of the program and I feel I have a couple solutions to their problems. I would like to attempt to come up with a program or structure that can be added to the academics of the boarding school that will allow the kids to have a fair chance of being able to graduate. A lot of kids are aging out of the program and being left without any type of degree which puts a lot of pressure on them and makes it harder for them to start their lives once they reach the outs.

I am hoping to have a sit down conversation with Professor Young in regards to my ideas for my Professional Project. I am still currently thinking of my communication objectives and the audience of my capstone.
